Violence Group
| What | Education and support group for children who have been impacted by domestic violence. Through discussions, art and creative play, children ages 5 and older explore a variety of issues. Childcare is provided for children under age 5. This group meets in conjunction with the Women’s Domestic Violence Group; women and children are provided a light meal before groups begin. |
| Who | Children of all ages who have been impacted by domestic violence may attend with a female parent/caregiver. |
| Why | Children who experience domestic violence directly or indirectly may be negatively impacted. These children may demonstrate guilt, depression, fear, aggressive behaviors, school disruptions, isolation or other concerning behaviors. |
| Outcome | Children will learn about domestic violence, how to be safe, not to take on the responsibility of the behavior of others, and about self-care. |
| Cost | There is no cost to attend group. The meal and childcare are also provided at no cost to attendees. Transportation assistance is available. |
