2012 Once Upon A Playhouse
The Rochester Area Builders and Family Service Rochester are partnering again at the 2012 Builders Home Show. The 5th Annual Once Upon a Playhouse event will be present four all new and unique playhouses. The Home Show is February 10-12, 2012 at the Mayo Civic Center. You won't want to miss your chance to play in these amazing playhouses and maybe even win one! All the playhouses will be raffled. Raffle tickets are just $10 (or 3 for $25) and can be purchased in advance at Family Service Rochester, at the Builders Home Show or online.

Subaru's Share the Love Campaign- Vote for Meals on Wheels of America
Subaru is asking you to help Share the Love by voting for one of five charities on their facebook page. They will donate $1 (up to $250,000) to that charity. Please consider voting for Meals on Wheels of America which has supported our local Meals on Wheels program in the past. Family Service Rochester will also be eligible to apply for future grants from Meals on Wheels of America. Click Here to vote for Meals on Wheels of America.
Meals on Wheels Winter Survival Kit
We are assembling kits for individuals who receive meals on wheels to ensure they are cared for on the rare occasions that meals are cancelled because it is simply not safe for the volunteers to deliver. The kits will contain items such as:
- Shelf-stable meal
- Book or video
- Flashlight
- Extra batteries
- Emergency phone numbers
- Bottled water
- Wet wipes
- Prepaid cell phone
- Small gift / fun items
- Can of Ensure or Boost
- Blankets (lap size)
Family Access Center
Toys and games are heavily used at the Family Access Center as children have visits with non-custodial parents / guardians. We constantly need to replace and update these items. The most needed right now are:
- Polly Pocket (individuals and sets)
- Littlest Pet Shop (individuals and sets)
- Outside toys (croquet, bocce ball, balls, chalk, bubbles, etc)
- Older Children games (battleship, apples to apples, etc)
- Clear plastic totes with latches
- Area play rugs with roads maps or train tracks
Family Service Rochester Kid's Room
The kids play room used during groups, counseling, and parenting courses. Items in needed include
- Family friendly DVD's
- CD player
- Comfortable kid's furniture (small pieces)
- Small plastic tubs to organize toys on shelves
- Toys (other than stuffed animals)
