On Wheels
| What | Hot, nutritious home delivered meals. Each meal meets one third of the daily recommended nutrients containing: protein, starch, fruits and vegetables, salad and dessert. Meals are delivered by volunteers over the noon hour. Meals are prepared under the supervision of a licensed dietician and special diets are available. |
| Who | Greater Rochester area residents who are not able to prepare or easily access a healthy meal may receive Meals on Wheels. Often recipients are frail, convalescing or have disabilities. |
| Why | Access to healthy meals assists people to remain living independently in their own homes. |
| Outcome | Recipients are able to improve or maintain health and remain living independently in their own home. |
| Cost | Meals are available on an ability to pay basis. Food stamps and other assistance programs are accepted. |
